An anonymous caller told the Mexican team that Nancy Guthrie’s remains were buried in the Mariposa area of Nogales, Sonora, about 70 miles south of the Tucson home where she disappeared in February.

Raymona Guadalupe Ayala Ortiz, leader of the Buscando Corazones group, told Phoenix NBC affiliate 12News that her team searched where the caller described but found nothing. The Tipster then called them and directed them to another location. That search also came up empty.

Nancy, 84, was abducted from her home in the Catalina Foothills area of Tucson on the morning of February 1. Her body camera was tampered with by a masked, gloved person, and it was confirmed that hers was found at the scene. He has a pacemaker and needs heart medication every day.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement that Mexican authorities have not contacted them about the tip or the search. The investigation in Arizona is still active, and the department said it will follow up on any credible information.

Buscando Corazones plans to return to the area for more searches. The Guthrie family is offering a $1 million reward for information leading to Nancy’s recovery.
