God is the Calm Your Storms Can’t Touch

Have you ever experienced a moment when a soft, indescribable whisper breaks through the noise of this world and gives you a wonderful sense of inner peace, even though the chaos outside seems endless?

Based on personal experience, that inner peace is something I believe people long for but tire of looking for in the face of endless adversity. In all the difficulties, what should we be studying and where should we look?

Ever since I became a believer of God, I have seen a pattern in humanity returning to the ways we don’t want to do, to being what we don’t want to be, and at some point we are always improving for the better.

Growing, falling, and growing again— read the motivation here.

We’ve all experienced in some way the hunger to want to be better versions of ourselves and we’ve experienced failure when trying to make that effort, leaving us with a sense of chronic frustration and individual discomfort due to our struggles.

We spend our lives resentful of them, we spend our time leaning on clichés to give them a sense of temporary comfort until we fall again and are unsure of what to lean on because we are disappointed when our experiences don’t match what we were trying to achieve. This leads us into a process of preparation without paying attention to the next test that we don’t even know is coming. And for some reason, each test we face always seems more difficult than the last and we can never figure out why.

Why does everything keep happening or why does it feel like it will never end.

The truth is, we as humans cannot fully stop or understand our repeated declines because each fall is temporary, and each reason has eternal answers that cannot be found as we wish, and we are frustrated because we do not seem to understand that there is an answer that we long for.

You see, if you pay close attention to what is happening in the midst of chaos with God’s guidance, you will find that even when past trials repeat themselves, you have peace by playing your part in everything because you see that beauty exists in imperfection, and you have realized this which makes us to be forgiven through the act of repentance. These battles shape who we are and leave an eternal mark as a reminder of where we were and that, even though it may not have gone the way we wanted, it was exactly where we needed to be at that time to get to where we are now, despite all possible mistakes.

No matter what you do, where you live, or anything that may give you an unsatisfactory sense of who you are or what you want to be, we can all find eternal truth through inner change with the reminder that we are all children of God and we all have the power to find who we are in Christ.

But how do we do this?

How do we stay focused on what is true in a world full of distractions and many things that lead us to our continued downfall?

It seems to me that the closer I get to God, the more this concept resonates and finds a way to approach my attention with the depth of what holds my focus in a good way.

Have you ever wondered why certain actions or words attract our attention?

How can we be on autopilot until we hear something that feels like it needs to be heard at that moment?

I believe most people today would say that was just a moment of clarity. Yes, that statement is true, but it is also a question of where that time came from and how we can apply it to the situation we were thinking of when we got it.

Just like our minds, this world is a wilderness full of wonders with endless attempts to make sense of the imperfect picture every day as we spend our lives seeking to better understand how God works by reading between the lines of everyday situations. The more we focus on learning what was taken away from us through the fall, the easier it will be to find ways to gain understanding and try to be better people.

The problem is, we don’t even understand what that means.

Learning from what was lost. Grow deeper with this book.

If we are made to live completely in the image of God then we are eager to find the best way to do that in this sinful world with things like acts of kindness and being moral so that we can apologize after we have made a mistake, right? But we keep getting stuck and going around in the circle of sin, blaming God for everything as we keep going back to our wicked ways.

We want to spend the whole day blaming the one who wholeheartedly forgives us for our sorrows and brings understanding to everything but we are too foolish to realize that it is because of man that this world is the way it is.

As a way of blaming our actions, we as humans have developed an unreliable question that is used when things don’t work out in the harvest: If God is so forgiving and loving, then why is this world full of hate, and why do bad things keep happening to good people?

The more we depend on this question, the deeper we dig our own hole of being in a state of anger and dissatisfaction because we cannot accept that this is what people do because we created this environment for ourselves. However, the more you seek Him and want to gain His wisdom, to seek God’s understanding rather than your own through His word, that sense of hope and clarity you long for in what you experience will become more apparent to you.

Even though finding understanding in this troubled world may seem impossible due to our recurring problems, a true understanding of why we face these trials and where we can find inner peace lies within the boundaries. You see, because God is a mystery to humanity and His way of working for us is often difficult to see clearly and understand, the imperfection of being human begins to take over our thinking process and we begin to be pulled in the wrong direction, taking us back to where we don’t want to be.

As imperfect humans as we are, we cannot spend our time looking for a life without pain because it does not exist. The true understanding is in the middle of every hurt because no matter what the situation is, good or bad, everything you go through is approved by God. For many people, I believe this concept is difficult to accept and understand.

Draw closer to Him with this book.

However, the closer you get to God, the more you will begin to understand that everything He does is for our greatest good and is done perfectly to match His purpose for your life. By having an open mind and changing the way we look at things and looking deeply at what we experience, I believe we can really find inner peace by doing our duty to take each situation and use the Word given to us to go through each test while also preparing us for the next one.

When you continue to seek God’s guidance, it will be easy to learn what is happening to you or others, and no matter how bad it is, you will be able to stay still, because no matter what changes around you, God will never change, and he will never leave you. You may not understand right away and your faith will always be tested, but this is an example of what you see why this life is not easy.

It is your choice to choose the right and short-term “great desires” that will get you where you are search but not when you the need you are. Or be patient and long for eternal life with God and proof of your faithfulness.
