His name is Ever. He is a 15-year-old straight-A student.
Her mother is Kayti Edwards, Julie Andrews’ granddaughter. Kayti, a former model who now runs a rescue horse in Joshua Tree, has kept Ever completely invisible his whole life so he can have a real, normal childhood. Kayti has 4 children in total.
In 2010, Kayti was briefly involved with Cher’s son Elijah Blue Allman, lead singer and lead singer of the rock group Deadsy. Kayti got pregnant and Elijah told her early on that he didn’t want to be a parent. Kayti’s husband has been Ever’s father since day one. She grew up thinking Elijah was just a family friend. He only found out the truth recently, at the age of 15.
Kayti, 49, explained why she never relied on the Cher or Julie Andrews connection: “I know what it’s like to have a famous grandmother and it’s not all that happened. It’s not a normal life and I’ve never wanted that for Ever.”
Cher first contacted him last June after hearing family rumours. Elijah had mentioned the child to his relatives after passing out on drugs in 2021, but no one knew for sure. When Kayti confirmed, Cher was speechless. When she told her family, she is said to have said: “Oh my God, I’m finally a grandmother.”
By September, Kayti and Ever were living in Malibu. Kayti says Cher was “very childlike” with Ever. They played in the pool. Cher let her try on items in her closet and showed her the jeans she wore to the concert. He asked about school and boys. Cher has sent Christmas and birthday gifts since then: a Chrome Hearts hoodie, sweats, money.
Kayti doesn’t push anything. “It has to happen.”
Elijah’s situation is difficult. Cher also filed for temporary conservatorship this week on her property, saying her life has been “very bad” since she applied in 2023. According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, Cher said Elijah “has no money” and probably only spends money on “drugs, expensive hotels, and luxury transportation.” The installation defines the pattern. It says: “After getting his reliable allocation, he checks into a hotel, usually the Chateau Marmont, buys and does drugs until he runs out of money, ends up in the hospital, or overdoses.”
He is currently in custody at a mental hospital in New Hampshire on multiple criminal charges. In March, he was charged with burglary, two counts of harassment, and breach of bail during a residential burglary. Days before that, he was arrested at a New Hampshire private high school and charged with simple assault, trespassing, and criminal threats. He has been kicked out of 18 hotels for shouting and acting in an unintelligible manner. He caused more than $50,000 in damage to recent Airbnbs, all rented in Kayti’s name, and took him to court against Airbnb.
Cher’s filing describes Kayti as someone who “made her come alive.” In the same text, Cher admitted that Elijah caused Kayti “a great emotional and financial loss.” A total of 14 Airbnbs were damaged. His estranged wife, Marieangela King, was awarded $6,500,500 a month in spousal support and is now one of his biggest creditors.
Kayti hasn’t let Ever meet her yet. “He needs to get back to being the guy I used to know, and Cher agrees. We need to make him better.”
