My Goals for CGC Year 10 – Steve Pavlina

Earlier today we had our first youth Synchronize call Conscious Growth Club Year 10.

Synchronize our monthly standing call where we log in with the current group call. What do people go for? What kind of support can help this month?

Today’s call also gave me a clear idea of what wants to happen at CGC this year – not as a rigid plan, but as a dynamic approach.

Some of the words and themes that emerged were:

connection
which is yours
intimacy
action
pressure
relationship
to be free
rest
integration
calm
opening up
to test
ask yourself
to be surprised
courage
to trust
surrender
creative flow
sharing half-baked items
sharing more about our real journey

That gives good clarity about how the CGC Year 10 potential opens up for us.

It also helped determine the types of people we would like to invite to CGC this year.

Not everyone. CGC is never for everyone.

But if this kind of space can truly support you, I would like you to see yourself more clearly in the invitation.

A Year of Meeting and Sharing

One of the strongest aims of CGC Year 10 is to help the group become a stronger space for real communication and belonging.

Many people do a lot of indoor work these days.

They are learning. Making a journal. Watching videos. Listening to podcasts. Thinking about their patterns. Trying to improve their habits. Trying to understand themselves.

All of that can be helpful.

But there’s a certain kind of growth that doesn’t really work until you bring your true self into relationships with other self-aware, growth-oriented, action-oriented people.

Not your polished self.
Not “here’s my impressive review” per se.
Not “I already got this” per se.

The real you – the part of you that still tries.
I still feel what needs to change.
You are still learning to trust your gut signals.

That’s one of the things we want CGC to firmly support this year: people being able to show up in a real way, while still moving.

You don’t have to arrive perfect – in fact it’s better if you don’t.

Full-figured people are often just growing up or pretending to be.

Extra Action, Les Solo Circling

Another strong theme from today’s Synchronize call was action.

It is not a rash act.
Not grinding.
Not a rush.
Don’t rush until your heart feels like it’s trapped in a cage.

Something like this: let’s stop repeating the same things to each other.

Let’s bring the points stuck in the room.

He keeps postponing the decision.
A relationship pattern that needs attention.
A creative project that ends up being almost a reality.
The part of life that feels crowded, heavy, unclear, or unfinished.
The invitation you keep not sending.
The body’s signal is that you keep ignoring me.
You keep telling the truth instead of asking for it.

CGC works best when people deliver what’s really happening.

The decision.
Desire.
A revolution.
Stuck place.
Longing.
A half-baked idea.
Support request.

Then we can work with it.

One aim of Year 10 is to help the club get better the bridge from understanding to living movement.

Not just more self-awareness.

More like this:

I had a conversation.
I made a request.
I removed the old one.
I rested to regain my strength.
I extended my hand.
I started a project.
I stopped pretending that the old way still suited me.
Let me show myself.
I let life help me a lot.
I’m done.
I’m sorry.
Set me free.

That’s the kind of progress I like to see at CGC.

Sometimes it’s big and wonderful. Sometimes it’s pretty easy. They both count.

Creative, Open-Hearted, Relatable People

We would especially like to welcome more people this year who are creative, open-minded, community-minded, and willing to try life.

By art, I don’t mean professional artists, although we always have some of those at CGC each year.

I mean people who relate to life as something they shape.

Writers, artists, entrepreneurs, coaches, amazing geniuses, creative explorers, relationship builders, community minded people, project initiators, experience designers, empaths with extraordinary inner worlds – yes, please… more of these people.

People with ideas that have not yet fully arrived.

People who want to publish something, build something, host something, heal something, explore something, make something easier, or open a new door in life.

People who are willing to:

“This is not over yet, but here I am.”

That kind of loyalty is strong in our group, and group energy is very good at helping people like that move to meaningful next steps.

This gives other people permission to be real with them. One person’s progress often inspires others to take action.

I’d rather be in a room with half-baked sweetness than polished pretense. CGC is a club where the power likes to get into action, not just spin around in the potential. And given Spirit Airlines’ recent news, there’s a timely reminder here: the atmosphere is great, but the quality of the journey is also important – and ultimately, the plane needs to stop.

Healthy and Supportive Relationships

Most thinkers are incredibly bad at getting support.

They can be very good at helping others.
Very good at thinking.
Very good at dealing.
It’s great to be independent.

But quiet complacency can be isolating.

One of my goals for CGC Year 10 is to normalize getting more support.

Bring something you need help with.

Bring in the part that sounds vague.

Bring in a place where you would like to view things, encouragement, mirroring, truth, warmth, or movement.

This does not mean that we have turned CGC into a medical center. That’s not it.

Growth group. A live, relational, participatory environment. A place for adults who are willing to engage with honesty, responsibility, curiosity, and care.

But it does mean that you don’t have to keep pretending that your life is a work of engineering on your own.

People need support rooms.

People need reliable glasses.

People need other people to say, “Yeah, I get it,” or “Have you considered this?” or “That sounds like an old talking pattern,” or “I think you already know what you want here.”

That kind of support can change the course of an entire month — and sometimes a lifetime. People tend to be bold and courageous when they have a strong base of social support. They take extra steps. Little do they know. They are very confident.

Stretch, But Don’t Squeeze

Another goal this year is to keep the CGC flexible but humane.

I want people to grow up.
I want people to try.
I want people to be brave, warm, open, honest, and alive.

But I don’t want the club scene to be stressful.

A good place to grow should help people breathe.

This year I want CGC to hold a healthy range:

  • Support when life feels bad and you don’t want to solve it alone.
  • The flow when your energy is scattered and you want to turn understanding into forward movement.
  • Release when something is over, old, old, or ready to leave your life.
  • It contains when you’ve been too much in your head and your body wants a vote.
  • Touch where relationships, friendships, trust, or real human connections need more care.
  • Wonder when the world feels so small and you may want to open up again.
  • Play when life has become too difficult and happiness needs a place to live.
  • Connect where you seek warmth, ownership, laughter, and deep connection with fellow CGCers.
  • Synchronize when we want to feel the moon together and choose the direction we share.

That’s the new rhythm for CGC Year 10.

It is not a rigorous curriculum. It is a living structure.

We will continue to listen to what people are going through, and we will adjust the flow accordingly.

Who Will Most Feel At Home Here

You might be a strong match for CGC Year 10 if you want more connection, support, honesty, and life in your life.

You’ll probably feel right at home if you’re willing to show up live, watch the camera, and participate honestly.

You will probably fit in well if you like thoughtful people, warm conversation, personal growth, exploration, emotional honesty, practical movement, curiosity, and a little wonder.

You don’t have to be fired.

You don’t have to be completely confident.

There is no need for your life to be neatly organized and color coded.

But you need to be willing to bring your true self into the room.

CGC is probably not for you if you mainly want private content to eat in the background, if you prefer to hide, if you don’t want live communication, or if you want a solid step-by-step formula where someone else tells you exactly what to do with your life.

It also does not sit well with sarcastic, scornful, cruel, or humiliating forces.

We build a warm room together.

That means that the quality of people is important.

My Deepest Purpose

My ultimate goal for CGC Year 10 is simple:

I want CGC to help people stop growing alone and start living life to the fullest – through movement, communication, and real life.

More honest conversations.
More invitations.
More warmth.
More courage.
A more grounded action.
More creative exercises.
More relative living.
More support to suit what people are going through now.

I want CGC to be a place where people can bring their lives into the room and feel something changed because they did.

Not all calls need depth.

Other calls may be playing. Some may be helpful. Some may have tenders. Some may be surprised. Others may explain in a way that seems small at the time but creates powerful ripples.

That’s real growth.

Not always fireworks. Sometimes the door finally opens because someone has the courage to touch the handle and think, “What if?”
