Doja Cat Reveals Her Borderline Personality Diagnosis And Defends Chappell Roan In New TikTok

Doja Cat has been involved in a number of celebrity engagements this week, including Timothée Chalamet’s opera and ballet (which she feels has regressed). Now he’s representing Chappell Roan—and in doing so, he’s revealed a much larger part of himself to his audience.

He started TikTok by saying, “I’ve learned from a young age to pretend I like things, to pretend I’m happy, to pretend I don’t like the things I’m doing to make it seem like everything’s going well, I’m going to do it. And it caught me, and I think it always does for people.”

“Now I’m battling BPD, I don’t know how long—I mean, probably forever,” she continued. “It’s a painful condition, it’s treatable, thank god. I’ve been in treatment for years, and I’m free and proud of myself. I’ve made it this far and I’m still making mistakes, but it’s like an 8-year process of treatment, treatment and treatment to cure me.”

Doja Cat then revealed that he was opening up about this mainly because of Chappell Roan and his relationship with the media.

“I see a lot of people upset—and I don’t respect Chappell Roan who has BPD,” she said. “I think there’s a connection in the way people treat Chappell Roan by showing him discomfort or showing him his dissatisfaction, his disdain, and I really like what he’s doing. I like that he’s not comfortable in front of people and he’s defensive and honest.”

“I had to learn to be honest,” he continued. “I had to learn how to be honest with myself. I lied to myself for years, most of my life. And to see him sitting there again … I love it. I love that he can do that without hurting people. He didn’t hurt a single person by being himself, and that shows that I can do the same, and being like ‘F*ck paparazzi’ is the best way to be. “Because F*ck ’em.

But Doja Cat wanted his fans to understand that this disdain is not as bad as it may seem, especially for people in the music industry who are forced to deal with it constantly while trying to live their lives.

“There are some nuances to this,” he explained. “I think it’s not only the paparazzi, there’s something that a lot of people don’t know, and they think that sellers are fans, not fans. Sellers are people who come up, pretend to be fans, and ask for autographs. It’s not an honest job, so it’s hard to respect, it’s busy, I’m busy, I like the artist’s place, I like to respect the artist. Airports. They will show up at the hotel. And it seems that when the artist passes through them, the artist doesn’t care about his fans.

Doja went on to explain why this may be why Chappell is viewed as cold or indifferent to his fans:

“The artist cares about his fans, he knows that they are sellers, sometimes they hold for a long time and they can’t sign things right away when they come out of care, so there are situations like that. But I have to tell you, for people who don’t know, I’m also a person in this work, I do this, there are people who don’t sign you and don’t want to sell you and want to go with you. anywhere.”

“The thing is that these people may need money,” continued Doja. “Correction: They do. It’s the same as if people sampled my music and put it on Spotify and they wouldn’t get as many views but get paid. I let them have it. The only thing is, if I’m not in the mood, it’s not necessary. And it’s okay if I don’t.”

Doja took to the tweet to remind people that Chappell Roan isn’t trying to be rude, and that in the end, his actions aren’t hurting anyone.

“These musicians don’t just ignore people because they are full of themselves, and Chappell Roan doesn’t hurt anyone, can we put that shit to rest?” he said. “Let him have an attitude because I would like to be with him too, and I wish, hopefully, in the future.”
