I have always felt connected to a higher power. Something beyond me, a divine source that I can’t fully understand, but that I can try to do as long as I’m here. Whatever God has to say to you, I encourage you to seek, ask and connect with that power. Faith has always been a sensitive topic for me. I’ve had my lows, my moments of doubt, and I still have endless questions about the universe. Yet nothing gets me through except my curiosity and faith in the unknown and all its possibilities.
Faith is a feeling you either get or you don’t, and in my case, I can’t help but feel and believe in something completely outside my eyes. Each person walks the path of building their own beliefs and faith based on different scriptures and circumstances, each with a different personal relationship with this higher power. I find that our connection with God is the most important relationship a person can have in their entire life. Having a relationship with God and connecting with him helps you to transcend and look beyond yourself and those around you. It helps you look for guidance from that source that connects us all in the first place.
My relationship with God helps me feel grounded in all my worldly relationships. I believe in the power of communicating with God, telling him what is on your mind, asking questions, asking for signs and developing our hearts and minds. I believe in walking towards the power of God and not away. I say this because, when I communicate with God, when I really open my heart to God, I feel a change in myself. I feel very centered, peaceful, loving, organized and light. Active communication with God purifies the soul. Effective questions get effective answers. This is how I choose to live my life, I believe I have all the tools and resources to live it. It is not only the guidance of other people but the guidance of a much greater and wiser power and they seem to be right next to me when I need that guidance and help.
The reason why a close relationship with God is so important and special is because God is outside of your everyday physical life. You are out of the picture, like a beautiful light that is reserved for you when you need it and will remain so despite the possible twists and turns of anything and anyone else. All it takes is access. All it takes is the will to have it.
Having a relationship with God helps you to have the space to fully understand your feelings, needs, and desires without feeling embarrassed and ashamed of what you are asking or asking for. Imagine listening to yourself every day, talking to God, trying to communicate with you and everything that doesn’t speak your language, trying to communicate with all the great beauty around you. Perhaps our relationship with God gives us the strength to continue, to allow a new kind of love, to always question, to wonder and to always understand the world and ourselves little by little. Our relationship with God has no boundaries and no limits. It allows us to relax and make ourselves at home.
