Prince Andrew Was Arrested, Most People Never Read What Virginia Giuffre Actually Wrote About Him

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on Thursday at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on suspicion of misconduct in public office.
The arrest is related to allegations that he shared confidential information with Jeffrey Epstein while serving as a UK trade ambassador. Thames Valley Police confirmed they were also searching areas in Berkshire and Norfolk as part of the investigation. Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles last year, denies wrongdoing and remains in police custody.
In his memory No Girlthe late Virginia Giuffre describes the first time she met Prince Andrew at Ghislaine Maxwell’s house in London when she was seventeen years old:
“Guess Jenna’s age,” urged the prince after introducing me. The Duke of York, who was forty-one at the time, guessed right: seventeen. “My daughters are younger than you,” he told me, explaining his precision. As usual, Maxwell was quick to joke: “I think we’ll have to trade him soon.”
The group went to dinner and then to an exclusive London nightclub called the Tramp, where Andrew bought her a cocktail and asked her to dance. On the way home, Maxwell gave Giuffre his instructions: “When we get home, you must do for him what you did for Jeffrey.”

Giuffre writes that Andrew acted “as if he believed that sleeping with me was his birthright.” The meeting lasted less than half an hour. The next morning, Maxwell told him: “Well done. Epstein later paid Giuffre $15,000.
Giuffre describes a second sexual encounter with Andrew at Epstein’s New York townhouse.
The third, Giuffre says, happened on Epstein’s private island, Little Saint James. This time it wasn’t just the two of them. She described it as an ordeal involving Andrew, Epstein, herself and about eight other girls “who all seemed to be under the age of eighteen and didn’t really speak English.” According to Giuffre, Epstein “laughed at how they really couldn’t communicate, saying they were easy girls to get along with.” He says some of the girls were supplied by Jean-Luc Brunel, a French modeling agent who was also there. Flight records from Epstein’s pilot suggest the encounter may have occurred on July 4, 2001, meaning Giuffre may have been seventeen.
Shortly after returning to New York, Giuffre suffered an emergency with severe stomach bleeding and was rushed to the hospital. Epstein went along and lied about his birthday, telling staff he was born in 1982 instead of 1983, so he would appear to be eighteen.
In 2021, Giuffre sued Andrew in US federal court for sexual harassment. Andrew denied all the allegations. The case was settled out of court in February 2022, with Andrew making a multimillion-dollar settlement while continuing to deny wrongdoing. He was never charged with a crime for Giuffre’s allegations, but he lost his royal duties, titles, and public role because of his friendships with Epstein and Maxwell.
