What It Looks Like to Stand Firm in the Faith (Even When You’re Full of Doubt)

This world is full of uncertainty. But as Christians, we are encouraged to trust God’s plan, stop our selfishness, know that God sees us and hears us, and leads us.
We are told to let life happen—do nothing and stand by as our world crumbles, but be patient—trusting in Him and knowing that what we desire may not be what He gives us. And by faith, even in times of fear or doubt, that those unanswered prayers are just what we need.
As Christians, we are forced to be bold. Knowing that there are many things in this life that we will never fully understand, but that does not make our God any less real. Knowing that sometimes we will be floating, confused, lost, but that doesn’t mean we are abandoned. To know that even in low places we build life, the story will end one day with more than we thought.
But faith like this is challenging. Standing strong in the face of disappointment, believing in something you can’t touch or see—sometimes that feels almost impossible. Sometimes it’s like standing on the edge of a cliff, hoping that someone will catch you. Or shouting into the void, hoping someone is listening to the harsh sound of your voice.
As Christians, as human beings we are constantly plagued by doubt—times that tear us apart, people who leave, dreams that fade, opportunities that fail, weakness that fills our bones—and yet, we are called to stand proudly. And it should.
Because the truth is, we worship a God who is strong above all things—all pain, all sorrow, all challenges. We worship a God who not only has incredible power, but who loves us unconditionally. Therefore, we must strive to honor Him with all that we are.
So, honestly, I hope you do just that. I hope you reject uncertainty and know that if you put your faith in Him, He will bring you out of the darkness. I hope you will stop listening to the voices in your head, the voices from the world that say you are alone in this and no one cares.

I hope you will close without hesitation and instead move forward in faith. Because what is the purpose of this life if you don’t rely on something bigger than yourself? If not doing everything you can to bring beauty to yourself and the world? If not, is allowing your Lord to build you and your soul a good thing?
Standing strong in faith is not easy. You will always be challenged. You will face doubts that build up inside your mind. You will say one thing, then think another. You will be stable and secure, and then, with the next breath, question everything.
You will watch your loved ones suffer and shake your fist at the sky. You’ll wonder if you’re on the right track, beg for a sign, and feel like you’re talking to yourself. You will stumble and wonder why he allows pain to cross our paths. You will question whether this faith is worth it, or if it is right, or if it means anything at the end of the day.
And then you will be reminded of His promise, of the sacrifice of His son, of the miracles that you have seen and heard and seen in your life, and the lives around you. You will watch loved ones move from pain and addiction, depression and fear, broken promises and closed doors to healing and joy.
You will see that there is beauty and freedom in living in His light. You will find purpose and hope and reason for joy with each step. You will be full.
Your path will not be easy; none of us will. But we must not be afraid to pursue our Creator. We must know that we are not alone in our struggle. We must know that there are far greater things out there than the pain and suffering of this temporary world.
So I hope you will join me in stepping out in faith. I hope you close your eyes, take a deep breath, trust in the unknown, in the promise of your Father, through prayer.
I hope you let your faith be bold, greater than any human doubt. Because our God is greater than anything on earth—so what do we have to fear?
