Google Search Universal Cart, extends UCP and AP2

Google also announced other new commerce features today in Google Search including the Universal Cart, extending the Universal Commerce Protocol and the Agent Payments Protocol (AP2).
Also, Google’s Shopping Graph now contains 60 billion product listings, up from 50 billion earlier this year, announced Vidhya Srinivasan, VP/GM Ads & Commerce.
Universal Carriage. Google has announced what it calls Universal Cart, where you can put products and items from multiple vendors into one Google Universal Cart and check out all those items with your Google Wallet at the click of a button.
Since you’re on Google Search, you can add items directly to your Google Universal Cart without having to go to a specific merchant’s website. This will work across Google Search, Gemini, YouTube and Gmail, so just keep dropping items into your cart – across the Google interface with the merchant and the cart will save your inventory.
Here’s a screenshot of the Universal Cart showing multiple vendors:

Google will find the best prices and deals, including which retailer has it in stock and lets you check with your preferred retailer.
Also, Google said Universal Cart will “anticipate your needs and help solve problems before they happen.” Google example:
“Say you’re building your first custom PC and add a few parts from a few stores to your cart. Your cart will continuously flag any product inconsistencies and suggest alternatives. Since the cart is built on Google Wallet, it understands the benefits of your payment method, loyalty information and merchant offers to help you choose. This allows you to quickly find hidden savings opportunities or without remembering points.”

Sellers. Google has listed a number of retailers that support this, including Nike, Sephora, Target, Ulta Beauty, Walmart, Wayfair, and Shopify retailers like Fenty and Steve Madden.
Availability. This is available on Google Search and the Gemini app in the US from this summer and YouTube and Gmail later.
UCP and AP2. Google has expanded the Universal Commerce Protocol on Google to Canada and Australia in the coming months and the UK later. UCP will also come to YouTube and other Google services including hotel bookings and local food delivery.
The Agent Payments Protocol (AP2) helps agents make payments for you, securely and responsibly, Google said. “Simply tell your agent the specific brands and products you want and how much they can spend, and the agent buys only when your criteria are met,” explains Google.
Google will introduce AP2 to Google products in the coming months, starting with the Gemini Spark.
