OpenAI optimizes version-oriented ads for ChatGPT

What’s going on. According to The Information, OpenAI has been telling advertisers and ad tech companies that it wants to attract small local businesses, including companies like laundry supplies, car washes and appointment-based services.
The company also prepares ad formats designed to encourage specific actions such as:
- shopping,
- to book an appointment,
- and submission of the contact form.
Advertisers who test the formats will reportedly only pay if those actions occur, bringing ChatGPT advertising closer to traditional performance marketing models.
