Billionaire Summer Camp Has Officially Started, with Bezos, Zuckerberg, Tim Cook, Evan Spiegel, and the Entire Tech Elite Gathering in Sun Valley, Idaho.

It’s like a sequel, but happening in real life.

Every July, several hundred tech and media powerhouses disappear into a mountain resort in Idaho for a week. No cameras inside, no public agenda, no press except for arrival photos and airport photos. Ikhodi yokugqoka ama-fleece vest namakepisi e-baseball. Uhlu lwezihambeli lunquma buthule inani elishaqisayo lalokho thina sonke esikubukayo, esikufundayo, nesiskrolayo.

This is the Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference, which takes place around July 11. Since 1983, it has drawn 200 to 300 of the biggest hitters in technology, media, and finance to one resort where almost nothing has been recorded.

This year’s crowd includes Sam Altman, Mark Zuckerberg, Jeff Bezos, Tim Cook, Sundar Pichai, Bob Iger, Disney’s Josh D’Amaro, David Zaslav, Ted Sarandos, Neal Mohan, Paramount Skydance’s David Ellison, Palantir’s Alex Karp, the Murdochs, and Jared Trump Kushner and Ivan AI is headlining the aisle. Amadili atshalwe lapha avamise ukubonakala emasontweni noma ezinyangeni kamuva.

Indaba iwugqinsi. Ukuthenga kuka-Bezos ngo-2013 i-Washington Post kulandelela izingxoxo nomnikazi wangaleso sikhathi u-Donald Graham kule ngqungquthela. Ukuhlanganiswa kwe-Disney’s ABC/Capital Cities kwaba nezimpande lapha maphakathi nawo-90s. Comcast-NBCU and a long list of media megadeals, including some of the worst ever signed, bear Sun Valley’s fingerprints.

If you’ve seen Succession, the “Argestes” retreat in season 2 is a thinly veiled play on this exact event: name tags, mountain resort, media and technology and banking power players cutting deals between hikes. Real life has better fur.
