DV360 API Adds Support for Demand Gen

Demand Gen campaigns are deeply integrated into Google’s advertising stack. Starting June 10, Display & Video 360 API users will gain the ability to manage Demand Gen services directly through the API, bringing campaign automation and management workflows closer to par with other DV360 creatives.

What’s going on. Google will begin rolling out Demand Gen service support to Display & Video 360 API partners on June 10, with full availability expected on June 24.

The update adds support for Demand Gen line items, ad groups and ad formats, allowing developers and advertisers to discover, create, update and delete Demand Gen resources through the API. Once enabled, Demand Gen services will appear in standard line item and ad group listing responses alongside existing DV360 campaign items.

Between the lines. For marketers and technology partners who rely on API integration, the biggest immediate impact is that existing list queries may start returning more Demand Gen line items and ad groups. Google advises developers to update the integration before June 10 to ensure that the systems can process the new types of resources.

Why do we care. The update makes it easier to automate Demand Gen campaign management within existing DV360 workflows, reducing the need for separate tools or manual processes as advertisers expand to YouTube and other discovery-focused platforms.

An important point. Demand Gen moves from beta functionality to the mainstream part of the DV360 API, giving advertisers and partners more freedom to manage campaigns programmatically at scale.
