Google Ads distributes video campaign groups around the world

Google Ads is rolling out video campaign groups for YouTube reach and frequency campaigns, giving advertisers a new way to coordinate delivery across multiple video campaigns while optimizing for a shared reach or frequency goal.
This feature is designed to simplify campaign management while helping advertisers optimize audience reach and avoid overexposure.
What’s new. YouTube video campaign groups and frequency campaigns are now available globally for Google Ads.
Advertisers can group multiple video campaigns under a single reach or frequency objective while maintaining campaign-level controls, including budgets, creative properties, and other settings.
This update also introduces consolidated reporting across all aggregated campaigns, providing visibility into metrics such as:
- Unique access.
- Weekly average.
- Access and frequency performance across the campaign team.
Google claims that a Meridian marketing mix modeling (MMM) study found that an optimal frequency of 2.7 impressions per week resulted in a 19% increase in ROI.
Why do we care. Managing reach and frequency in many YouTube campaigns has required marketers to monitor campaign-by-campaign performance. Video campaign teams centralize optimization and reporting, making it easier to control audience exposure while maintaining separate budgets and creative strategies. For brands running large awareness campaigns, the feature can improve media efficiency by reducing unnecessary overlap and helping to increase unique reach.
Between the lines. Google continues to invest in various campaign optimization tools that automate media planning decisions without removing campaign-level flexibility. By aggregating delivery across campaigns, marketers can focus more on overall audience strategy rather than manually measuring frequency across individual campaigns.
The company also confirmed that this feature will expand to Display & Video 360, allowing advertisers to link reach and repeat across multiple YouTube properties in the near future.
Bottom line. Video campaign groups provide advertisers with a centralized way to optimize YouTube reach and frequency across multiple campaigns, potentially improving media effectiveness while simplifying campaign management and reporting.
