Mel C, 52, Marries Australian Model Chris Dingwall This Weekend, 30 Years After The Spice Girls Dropped “Wannabe.”

The last single Spice Girl finally said “I do,” and once said that marriage was not part of her story. All of her teammates have been invited to the low-key event in England’s Lake District, although Victoria Beckham will be absent.

Mel C is the last Spice Girl to get married, and this weekend she will marry Australian model and author Chris Dingwall in a low-key ceremony in the Lake District, England, a mountainous national park in the northwest of the country, according to a report by the Daily Mail.

Chris, believed to be in his forties, is a Sydney-based model, writer and director. He has signed with agencies including Ford and Chadwick and shot campaigns for The North Face and Aether Apparel, and his screen credits include the short films Sandwich (2016) and The CNO (2019). His Instagram tracks the jet-set lifestyle through Oman, Bali, California and Armenia.

The couple went public in 2024 after months of speculation, after hooking up on celebrity dating app Raya. They had a hard time at Glastonbury in late June that year and were spotted days later cozying up at Wimbledon. He hasn’t publicly announced that he is engaged, but the source says that “he is in over his head and he has never been this happy.

All the band mates have been invited except for Victoria Beckham, who is the American in the World Cup. As one source put it, “Everyone is confused that Sporty Spice is having her wedding the night before the FIFA world cup final.”

Marriage was not always on the agenda. Mel had vowed, telling the Sunday Times in 2022, “I never, never wanted to get married. Chris changed that. She told The Times in January: “It’s something I didn’t think would be part of my story, but I’m so happy for Chris. Elements of his new album Sweat were inspired by him, and he described him to the Telegraph as “very accurate. You have a lot of fun… we work together.”

Mel was previously in a seven-year relationship with her former manager Joe Marshall which ended in 2015, and shares her 17-year-old daughter Scarlett with ex-partner Thomas Starr. There is a feeling that she may eventually move to Australia with Chris, where she is already working on The Voice Australia.
