Orbitkey’s Grid Desk Editor allows you to Create Your Own Layout

Melbourne, AU (May 2026) – Orbitkey, the Melbourne-based brand behind 12 successful Kickstarter campaigns and over 67,000 rewards delivered, today launches the Grid Desk Organizer on Kickstarter. It’s the brand’s most ambitious desk product to date: a modular, stackable desk organization system built around a patent-pending snap-in divider that allows users to organize their cabinets around the things they actually use.

Many desk planners solve the wrong problem. Fixed components force users to work around the product. Opened trays look organized the day before everything ends up in a pile. The Grid Desk Organizer takes the opposite approach – the layout builds itself around things, not the other way around. At the core of the system is a customizable pegboard divider. Put dividers in, move them, and create compartments that fit what’s on the desk – pens, cables, AirPods, glasses, hard drives, SD cards. Reconfigure whenever the setup changes. No fixed spaces, no wasted space.

The system is presented in two sizes – Grid Desk Organizer and Grid Desk Organizer Mini – and three color options: Black, Stone, and Terracotta. Both sizes feature three functional layers: a main tray with a divider system, a secondary accessory tray for small items, and a lid that doubles as a valet tray for quick-access essentials. Layered trays slide open for liquid access without lifting or disassembling.

The Grid Desk Organizer is designed to sit on a desk, in a closet, on a bedside table, or wherever organization is needed. The units are stackable and expandable horizontally and vertically, with future-proof facilities and installations planned.

The product builds directly on Orbitkey’s most successful Kickstarter campaign to date – the Nest, which raised US$646,244 from 5,614 backers in 2020. Where the Nest is built to be portable, the Grid Desk Organizer is built to last.

Features

Patent pending separator system – Snap-in pegboard dividers allow users to create rooms around their original objects. Move them whenever the setup changes – no fixed spaces, no wasted space.

It is modular and extensible – Two sizes stacked, smooth, and compact. Start with one. Grow the system as the desk setup grows. Future relevant entries and resources are planned.

Three levels of organization – Large tray holds everyday items with customizable dividers. The utility tray adds a second level of small items. The lid doubles as a valet tray for quick-access essentials like keys, wallet, or phone.

Swipe to access – Layered setup allows users to slide the top tray to access the bottom – fast, fluid, and without removing.

Designed for real desks – Designed to sit on a desk, in a closet, on a bedside table, or any ordering needed. A soft interior with soft rubber protects items. Soft feet for contact with a quiet desk. Hold on to the lid that doubles as a portrait phone stand.

From the makers of Nest – 5,614 supporters. $646,244 raised. The Grid Desk Organizer takes the most popular feature of the Nest and builds a complete desk system out of it – affordable, more customizable, and designed to sit on the desk.
