Planview Bridges the Gap Between Strategic Intent and Business Outcomes in the Age of AI

AUSTIN, TEXAS — Strategic portfolio management software provider Planview today introduced new capabilities for the future of AI-powered SPM. This includes the launch of the Outcome Intelligence Graph, a business portfolio model where every decision is linked to the resources behind it and the results it produces.

The Outcome Intelligence Graph addresses three requirements that Planview sees as non-negotiable in the agent era: all decisions must drive outcomes; actions must be consistent with change; and governance must be built for speed – people and agents alike. The company published a full vision statement about the necessary shifts in the management of the agent’s strategic portfolio of the era from CEO Matt Zilli on its blog.

“AI doesn’t close the gap between intent and outcome. It widens it. Implicit decision making now includes machine speed, at scale, before anyone sees a signal,” said Matt Zilli, CEO of Planview. “This is also the time when AI can finally do what was not possible at human speed: connect strategy to performance in real time, align investments and results continuously, and give every leader, team, and agent a common vision.”

Introducing the Outcome Intelligence graph

With the Outcome Intelligence graph, AI leaders and agents communicate with each other about the same picture. The relationships within the graph hold three decades of scholarly knowledge about how portfolios behave, finally making the most difficult question answerable: Did the program we sponsored live up to our expectations?

“General purpose AI models are amazing, but you don’t know how much a R40 million program delay is costing your company. Tracking workflow at team level is not enough — leaders need to understand the whole picture. Anvi®, powered by the Outcome Intelligence Graph, is built on 30 years of how business positions actually behave with something or can’t connect,” said the consultant. Louise K. Allen, Chief Product Officer of Planview. “It’s the difference between an AI that can answer questions and an AI that understands the context of the overall strategies at work.”

New Anvi-Powered Skills

Planview is also announcing new capabilities that put the Outcome Intelligence Graph to work across the planning, collaboration, and broader AI ecosystem:

  • Anvi-powered Scenario Planning addresses the need for enterprise-wide intelligence, turning days of manual spreadsheet modeling into minutes. Define your goals and automatically return to standard scenarios with a full tradeoff analysis across capacity, finance, and strategic fit, so leaders understand the trade-offs and see what the organization can really achieve.

  • Anvi MCP Server puts the Outcome Intelligence Graph wherever your team is doing work, allowing Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, or any business agent to call Anvi directly – bringing your business context and Planview’s decades of expert knowledge to any area of AI your teams are already using.

  • First introduced at Planview Connect 2026, Agent Resource Management is the real-time management plane for the agent era, putting people and AI agents in one system to plan, manage, and improve together – with full cost visibility into all energy decisions, automatic monitoring of agent activity, and continuous evidence of what your AI investment is delivering.

Together with the new Anvi Home experience – where teams build, test, and deploy agents with a curated library of information and management controls for deployment across the organization – these capabilities turn the Outcome Intelligence Graph from model to action.

“Businesses are asking, ‘how do we adopt AI quickly?’ they ask the question in the wrong way. The first question is: ‘How do we know that our AI investment is producing the results we’ve funded them to produce?’” Zilli said. “For most organizations, no one can answer – this is the gap portfolio management is designed to fill.”
