Shawn Mendes and Bruna Marquezine Read a Book Together Over Morning Coffee at the Beach Kiosk in São Conrado
This is one of the quietest, most intimate relationships Mendes has had in years.
Shawn Mendes and Bruna Marquezine have been coming to the same São Conrado kiosk for days, ordering coffee, going on a tour, and this week they shared a book at a table outside. On Wednesday they were sitting in the same cafe wearing brown shorts and beige pants, holding hands, hugging, and kissing a few times before walking away with Orla with her arm around his shoulders.
He is 27 years old, he is 30 years old (born August 4, 1995, in Duque de Caxias, just outside Rio), and the similarity of the world suits each other for a week to be the answer to the cool sound of “friozinho carioca”. Shawn is photographed in the same rotation almost every day: baseball cap, faded brown sweater, coat draped over his shoulders.
The morning before the date of the kiss, Shawn was photographed holding Bruna’s toy Chihiro on the beach as they went to a coffee shop. Chihiro is named after the Studio Ghibli film Spirited Above and was adopted by Bruna in Japan; shares custody of Chihiro (and second dog, Haku) with ex João Guilherme.
The first sparks of dating came in mid-November 2025 when they were seen at a Dua Lipa concert in São Paulo, followed by more sightings in Rio in December. They spent New Years 2025 to 2026 together in Alagoas and flew into Rio’s Galeão Airport hand in hand.
Their first big US PDA moment came on January 7, 2026, selling out in LA with open hugs and love, and the language of “girlfriend” has been a common thing in the media ever since.
This is at least the third of many dates in this São Conrado kiosk in 2026 – they had romantic beach days in the same place in March and June, and were seen training together in the gyms of Rio earlier this year. Brazil’s fans were tickled by the way he looked in his midfield interview with “Efeito Marquezine,” a gentle, observant, almost mesmerizing figure.
No one has sent an official confirmation, and there is no statement from either camp as of this morning. This is widely described as one of Shawn’s quiet and consistent relationships from his years with Camila Cabello from 2019 to 2023, and repeated home coffee dates have made a denial aside from that point.
