Stop Chasing Your Dreams (Take These 3 Steps Instead)

“Always remember that you don’t just have the right to be one, you have the responsibility to be one.” – Eleanor Roosevelt

Whether we realize it or not, the frequency we send out into the world attracts what we experience externally. Which means that our inner truth is rained directly influence in shaping our lives. Knowing this is powerful—when you fully internalize it, you realize that you can change the way you look at things, change the way you see yourself, and let go of who you used to be so that you can embody more of who you want to be.

But in order to let go of our old self-image, we must realize that we are built on self-righteousness. The moment you become aware of your thoughts, feelings, and actions every day is the moment you can change everything. Our thoughts reflect our feelings, which in turn cause us to take (or not take) certain actions. We are the result of what we repeatedly do, as many say, and we can only change what we experience by changing what we put out into the world.

Although this is easier said than done, these tips will help you unconsciously change your lifestyle and inspire it with authenticity, meaningful purpose, and love for who you are to change the story of your life one page at a time:

1. Stop doing things to get somewhere.

Although this may sound absurd, we never want to do things because of the desire to get to a place that is not there. Stop thinking and instead choose to do things for your love. Instead of going to the gym to get results, go to the gym because you ARE the type of person who likes to exercise. Write that book you’ve always wanted, not because you’ve always wanted to achieve title, status, or wealth, but because you love the process of putting letters and ideas together. Although it may feel uncomfortable at first, creating a personal image based on something you are passionate about is powerful because it is deciding who you want to be.

2. Reduce the importance of what you want.

Many times when we have big goals and dreams, we put great importance and resistance to achieving them, not realizing that we communicate with ourselves and others without caring that we are incomplete and incomplete unless we do some work. Place less importance on your goal by seeing it as natural. To do otherwise is to send a frequency of resistance to what you want, pushing it away from you. See what you want to achieve as completely normal to who you are. If you don’t release the ‘need’ to achieve, you usually get what you want more easily, thinking you are doing the work.

3. Stop waiting.

Which brings me to my third and final tip: Stop waiting for something to come. Be intentional about what you want and do it every day if you can. By doing so, you not only build your confidence but also change the way you see yourself. Doing things repetitively until you become a master and asking yourself what the ideal version of you can do each day is important work. Be the person you desire even before it arrives. Give yourself permission to live life to the fullest without the stress of need it becomes something or someone. Be that person now!

Changing your image by taking purposeful action each day towards what you want to be your reality will align your feelings, thoughts and actions with the person who is DESERVED for the life they love. For a person who SHOULD be full and complete. Your self-image is what’s stopping you from being who you are today, so choose to stop waiting for things to happen and take action today on what you want to create. I promise, you won’t regret it one bit.
