Iran beat Kuwait, Jordan, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia on Saturday, one week after the US split. A desalination plant collapsed, Kuwait’s main airport was closed, and firefighters were among the injured.

Kuwait International Airport suspended operations on Saturday as missiles and drones came in waves, and the desalination plant was directly affected. It was the second strike at Kuwait’s salt mines in two days.

The attack followed a seventh consecutive night of US strikes on Iranian military targets, including transport facilities, escalating the conflict that erupted when a ceasefire collapsed last week.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said it raided a US military base at Camp Arifjan and destroyed a radar site at Ali Al Salem Air Base. The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation reported that one of its oil facilities was affected, causing extensive damage and injuries. The Kuwaiti military said it intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles and drones, and that firefighters and oil workers were injured in response to the attack.

The IRGC laid out its reasons in a statement warning US allies to be more vigilant: “Since there is no international institution to prevent the brutality of the US military, we have no way before us except the command of the Quran that says: ‘Whoever attacks you, attack them in the same way.'”

Iranian media said security forces also attacked the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain, where US warplanes were stationed, as well as an intelligence data center. State TV says Iran destroyed at least two US warplanes and three others in a strike on a US base in Al Azraq, Jordan. Reuters could not confirm the reports.

Iran attacked Saudi Arabia for the first time in about three months, according to two people familiar with the matter, triggering early warning alarms in Al-Kharj east of Riyadh and Yanbu on the Red Sea coast. One attack targeted the Prince Sultan Airbase, which hosts US troops.

Iran said it was responding to US strikes on bridges, power plants and other infrastructure. Iranian media reported that three people were killed and eight injured in Hormozgan province on Saturday, and two bridges and a road tunnel were damaged. The previous day, it was reported that seven people were killed in bridge strikes at Bandar Khamir port. In the southern town of Jask, about 10,000 people in 20 villages were left without water.

Oil prices rose more than 4% on Friday to their highest level in over a month. Both sides were targeting shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, a waterway that carries one-fifth of the world’s oil.
