Xiaomi 17T Series phones with Leica telephoto lens are now available in the Philippines

XIAOMI Corp. on May 29 (Friday) launched its latest T Series smartphones in the Philippines, the Xiaomi 17T and Xiaomi 17T Pro, both with a Leica 5x telephoto camera and better battery life.

The phones are being unveiled worldwide on May 28. For the first time in the T Series, which is an affordable product line, the Xiaomi 17T Series phones come in two sizes aimed at catering to consumer preferences.

Those looking for a more compact device can go for the base model Xiaomi 17T, which has a 6.59-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of up to 120Hz. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 17T Pro has a larger 6.83-inch screen size with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz.

The new smartphones are marketed as the best photography devices for modern users as they combine Leica optics with Xiaomi imaging technology. Both have a triple rear camera system powered by Leica with a 50-megapixel (MP) main lens, a 12MP ultra-wide camera, and a 50MP 5x telephoto lens.

Xiaomi 17T Pro also has 4K 60fps (frames per second) cinema video recording.

Both phones feature special photo and video shooting modes.

The Xiaomi 17T Series also introduces Leica Live Moment, which brings movement to still images. The feature is supported across the entire length of the rear camera, as well as in Portrait mode with Leica Live Portrait.

POWER AND PERFORMANCE
Both models in the lineup also feature next-generation silicon-carbon battery technology.

The Xiaomi 17T Pro’s 7,000mAh battery is the largest for a Xiaomi Series smartphone in international markets, the brand said. supports 100-watt (W) wired HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge.

On the other hand, the Xiaomi 17T is equipped with a 6,500mAh battery paired with 67W HyperCharge.

The Pro model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset built on the 3nm process, while the Xiaomi 17T comes with the MediaTek Dimensity 8500-Ultra on the 4nm process. They use Xiaomi HyperOS.

“Both bring significant improvements in CPU, GPU, and AI performance, allowing smooth response to all demanding multitasking and next-generation games. To maintain this high output, the Xiaomi 3D IceLoop System provides improved thermal management with effective separation of vapor and liquid.”

The phones have an IP68 rating for water and dust resistance.

Xiaomi 17T Series’ displays, protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, also include eye care technology with Xiaomi Vision Care.

“Guided by medical research with precise engineering, this display automatically adapts to the surrounding light conditions, and effectively controls blue light, flicker, and motion blur to ensure all-day comfort,” Xiaomi said.

“Thanks to these new processes, the Xiaomi 17T Series is the first to receive the TÜV Rheinland quadruple eye care certification, and to receive Xiaomi’s first TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care certification.”

Other features shared by the two models are a 1.5K AMOLED display with a maximum brightness of 3,500-nit, a 32MP front camera, and two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos Hi-Res and Hi-Res Wireless certification, among others.

PRICE
Xiaomi 17T Pro is available in three colors: Deep Blue, Deep Violet, and Black. The suggested retail price of the 12GB + 512GB storage model is P47,999, while the 12GB+256GB model is exclusive to Shopee and has an SRP of P45,999.

For its part, the Xiaomi 17T comes in Violet, Opal White, Blue, and Black. The 12GB+512GB model has an SRP of P37,999, while the 12GB+256GB variant is priced at P33,999.
