Globe supports ASEAN 2026, enhancing national efforts through improved connectivity

Globe reaffirmed its commitment to country building by supporting the Philippine government to host ASEAN-related events in the first half of 2026, bringing free mobile signal boosters and dedicated local support to all key locations across the country.

Working closely with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), and the ASEAN National Planning Council, Globe worked tirelessly to help ensure that the country’s hosting of regional talks is supported by reliable, high-quality communications. The program supported events in Metro Manila as well as Cebu, Bohol, Iloilo and Boracay.

Recognizing the importance of seamless communication in international gatherings, Globe makes extensive preparations before events. The company conducted readiness checks for dozens of locations and worked closely with government partners to anticipate connectivity needs and strengthen network capacity early.

During events, Globe deployed dedicated teams on the ground to continue monitoring network performance and respond quickly to any issues. This allowed delegates, organizers, and participants to stay connected and focus on developing regional cooperation.

Improved 5G coverage

To further support high-traffic areas such as hotels and workplaces, Globe has rolled out targeted enhancements and improved 5G coverage in selected areas. These efforts have resulted in strong, consistent cellular signals and fast data speeds, helping to ensure a great digital experience for all attendees.

DICT commended Globe for its active role, recognizing the company’s role in strengthening communication support for ASEAN events.

“Globe stands with the government in allowing meaningful participation and cooperation during ASEAN negotiations. By ensuring reliable communication, we aim to support the country’s role in promoting strong regional relations,” said Joel Agustin, Senior Vice President of Service Planning and Engineering at Globe.

Through early preparation, close public-private partnerships, and grassroots support, Globe has contributed to the successful planning of ASEAN activities in the Philippines.

Globe continues to work in partnership with the government and industry partners in strengthening the country’s digital infrastructure, supporting programs that promote national development and strengthening the Philippines’ position in the regional and global community.
