GCash, the leading financial technology platform in the Philippines, is proud to support 48th The ASEAN Summit as an official partner brings cashless convenience and financial inclusion to the region’s largest gathering of leaders.

be 48th The ASEAN Summit in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu is one of the regional bloc’s highest-level meetings of the year, where heads of state from 11 member countries will meet to discuss and decide on important regional issues.

“We are incredibly honored to be a major part of the ASEAN leadership of the Philippines. Our partnership with ASEAN gives us the opportunity to showcase Filipino innovation to the world and show how the Philippines is leading an integrated, integrated ASEAN region,” said GCash General Manager of GCash Business Paul Albano.

In ASEAN’s Partners Pavillion featuring GCash budding entrepreneurs powered by Cebuano

At Partners Pavillion, GCash powers booths featuring small Cebuano entrepreneurs who make home decorations, cakes and pastries, hand-woven goods, chocolates, dairy products and food, as well as locally made souvenirs and handicrafts. These include Adorno ’72 Home Decors, Audrey’s Confectioneries, Dahlia Chocolates, Hinablon sa Cebu, Holicow, Island Souvenirs, Profoods, Rambie’s Collection, Tuburan, and Ver & Ver Handicrafts.

“By supporting the MSME market at the Pavilion and allowing cashless transactions for small Cebuano entrepreneurs, we are showing that the inclusion of digital currencies creates a tangible, real impact on the world,” said Albano.

The booth, in addition, will have on-site card printing and dedicated customer information representatives to assist users and address inquiries in real time.

It will also highlight GCash’s range of offerings, including lending and wealth management products, GCash for Business payment solutions and devices, and services designed for overseas Filipinos.

Apart from the product demonstrations, the booth aims to improve the digitization of MSMEs by onboarding new merchants to GCash for Business and showing how digital tools can help local businesses grow and thrive in an increasingly cashless economy.

“We are empowering the MSME marketplace by bringing cashless payments to budding Cebuano entrepreneurs. If a local merchant can accept digital payment as easily as a large merchant, that is digitalization,” Albano added.

ASEAN partners gathered at the opening of the International Media Center and Partners Pavilion, featuring emerging Cebuano entrepreneurs powered by GCash during a major leadership meeting in Cebu.

GCash will also join key side events at the conference to participate in discussions on digital transformation and advance wider access to financial services across the region.

The conference, titled “Navigating Our Future, Together” was held this week in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, Philippines, as part of the country’s ASEAN chairmanship.

The event brings together leaders from all 11 ASEAN member states, as well as thousands of delegates, officials, and international media.

Discussions will focus on energy security, food security, regional stability, and the protection of ASEAN citizens, as well as the broader themes of economic integration, sustainability, and digital cooperation.
