Ferran Torres scored the winner in extra time in Sunday’s World Cup final and was named Man of the Match, the biggest night in international football.
Shakira presented him with the trophy on stage, in a Roberto Cavalli look reportedly set with 200,000 Swarovski crystals. He headlined the first-ever FIFA World Cup Finals Show, held in support of the FIFA Citizens’ Scholarship Fund, an initiative he sits on, making him the chosen recipient of the event.

The image also evokes a very specific memory. Shakira performed at the 2010 World Cup, a tournament Spain won for the first time, and met Gerard Piqué on the set of the “Waka Waka” video that summer. They went on to have a decade-plus relationship and two children before splitting in 2022.

Post-final coverage calls him the new heart of the Spanish internet, pointing to long hair, Flynn Rider comparisons, and a flurry of edits that began to spread a few hours after the award was presented.
